“We moved to Homer in 1974 and fell in love with Pier One Theatre. We tried to go to every play. In 1989 I was hired to manage the concession stand, plus I auditioned for my first part in the play The Miss Firecracker Contest. I was hooked and have been for 41 years. In 2000 my husband got a job in Dutch Harbor. When he retired, we moved back to Homer and I immediately joined Pier One again, trying out for parts and joining the board. Pier One Theatre is so important to the town of Homer. Homer needs Pier One, and we need to keep our community theatre going for the next generations.
